East Block Northwest tower Stabilization & Conservation Project
The East Block of the Parliament Hill was built between 1859 and 1906 and major restoration work is needed to preserves this historical building. The masonry work includes the dismantling and reconstruction of the chimney, gables and weathering courses using the existing and new stones. The repointing of all the joints on the building were done at 100%. Throughout the tower, specific masonry repairs was completed using various techniques such as dutchman, pinning & fissure repairs and cintec anchors. Beside the masonry work, a steel structure was installed inside the attic to stabilize the tower.
